Noura is having her favorite class at Harvard University. She looks different. She doesn’t argue her teacher. She remains absolutely silent during the class.
“How about you?” Mr. Edward asked.
“What?” Noura said.
“Are you daydreaming?”
“I’m sorry, Sir.”
“Well. What do you feel when you are in love?” asked Mr. Edward.
“Um… I feel good.”
“Would you please elaborate?”
“When I am in love, winter feels like summer”
“Nice. So you don’t really like the snow.”
“I guess so. Uh, everything appears to be beautiful. You know, traffic jam is the best part when we are on the way. I mean… I can share more stories and spend more time with him,” said Noura.
“Great. Are you in love?” Mr. Edward asked.
“I don’t know.”
“Perfect! Guys, Noura is in love!” said Mr. Edward loudly.
“But Sir, I said…”
“You forgot something, Noura. I don’t know is a Yes for Mr. Edward,” said Tanya.
“Damn.” Noura is shy.
“Tell us about your guy,” said Mr. Edward.
“It’s been years, Sir. I always have something to hide. But, I can never escape this feeling.” Noura is being spotlighted now. “I don’t mind texting him even in my busiest time, just to know whether he is doing fine. I give my love away with no expectation of return,” said Noura.
“So, you are his secret admirer,” said Ameer. He is a smart Indian student.
“Probably more,” Noura answered. “I am his lover in disguise.”
“I got it! He is an Indonesian guy, isn’t he? Noura, do not lie to your feeling. Sooner or later, it will be the thing you regret the most,” said Mr. Edward wisely. “Guys, always tell someone how you feel about them. You will feel much better when they know,” Mr. Edward ended up smiling.
