Namun Pada saat itu menjadi  60%(Go to Campus) : 40% (Stay at Kost). Human Brain Always Looking Over His Body Width

by on Jun.16, 2010, under Information Lifestyles

mirrorAlthough the reality was very thin, every woman must have looked in the mirror and then anxiously, “Do I look fat?”. Do not rush to say it Feminisme, because the human brain is the body's own see 69 percent wider than the actual size.

Quoted from the Telegraph, this phenomenon is revealed in research conducted by scientists at University College London. Believed, these findings can explain the causes of eating disorders like anorexia.

In that study, 18 volunteers were asked to invert the palm of his hand and then closed with a board. Then, from behind the boards that the volunteers were asked to estimate the location of 10 points and sections of the fingertips and then show it with the pointer.

The points shown were then compared with actual hand shapes and sizes. It turned out that these estimates form the size of 69 percent wider than the original. Similarly, long fingers, the volunteers estimated 27.9 percent on average shorter than the original.

Dr Matthew Longo who led the study said, estimating the error occurs in the subconscious and involve parts of the brain that perceives sizes. These sections make someone aware of the location of the body even with my eyes closed.

“Someone certainly recognize parts of his body, proved to be one of the volunteers did not recognize her own image even if made in various sizes. But in estimating the position, it does not apply,” Dr Longo.

This effect becomes very visible in women, who tend to be sensitive to body size in certain parts such as stomach and hips. Experts peyakini this is closely related to anorexia.

“We know that patients with anorexia nervousa also experience disturbances in body imaging. They may feel fat, even though the reality was very thin,” said Susan Ringwood from the Beat, a charity for anorexia.

Ringwood assess these findings could explain the conditions experienced by patients with anorexia are more rational. Feeling that her body is more fat is not simply a form of anxiety, but rather triggered by the natural perception in the brain.

10 Deadly Diseases Transmitted Between Species

by on May.16, 2010, under Uncategorized

deseaseIn my country, bacteria and viruses is a creature that is very easy to breed and the disease it causes highly contagious. At present a number of contagious and deadly disease has been transferred from animals to humans and from humans to animals. What are the deadly disease?

Cross-species infection could come from farms or markets, which creates conditions of mixing of pathogens. That give pathogens an opportunity to exchange genes and equipment up to the earlier killing of foreign host.

Transmission can also occur from activities that seem trivial and harmless, like letting a monkey riding on top of your head, a lot happens on the streets in Bali.

Microbes from the two varieties can even be assembled in your intestines, the virus evolved and make some 'dancing' to turn you into a host of infectious and deadly.

Infectious diseases from animals to humans is called zoonosis. There are more than three dozen diseases, whether transmitted through touch as well as from the bite.

As quoted from the LiveScience, the following 10 deadly infectious disease from cross-species:

1. Influenza pandemics

Deadly flu pandemic like the Spanish flu, swine flu or bird flu has struck in several countries. Potential pandemic is very easily spread by direct contact, so that could be very dangerous.

Between 1918 and 1919, Spanish flu killed 20 to 40 million people. This is truly a global disaster. This deadly flu attacked people ages 20 to 40 years, and infects 28 percent of Americans.

And lately also emerging swine flu and avian influenza that has become epidemic in some countries. Now, governments are better prepared, scientifically and logistics to manage the outbreak. However, there is no vaccine against swine flu.

2. Plague

Pestilence known as 'Black Death', is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Yersinia pesti, most often carried by rodents and fleas. At mid-century, millions of people across Europe died from plague caused by rat infestation that is widely available in homes and offices.

3. Diseases due to bites

Zoonotic diseases is expected to rise due to the bite of an animal that kills hundreds of thousands of people every year. Mosquitoes are the main causes, such as dengue fever and malaria.

Nerve Disease Migraine Apparently Derivatives

by on May.14, 2010, under International Issues

sarafIn Cambridge, people first learned about migraine from the time of 1500 BC (BCE). The headaches are commonly experienced, but few understand it. And the fact that migraine is a disease carried since birth and is derived from the parent.

Although migraine is not life threatening, but the headaches this is a disease classified as severe and many people do not know.

“In fact, migraine is a complex neurological disease that affects the central nervous system and is accompanied by physical symptoms and emotional,” said Dr. Carolyn Bernstein, neurologists from Cambridge Health Alliance-Cambridge Campus, as reported from Dailymail .

Dr. Bernstein himself attracted to specialize neurology because it is also often experienced a migraine since the age of 20 years. According to him, not many people know about the causes of migraine disease and how to overcome them. So that specialization is quite attractive.

And in his book entitled 'The Migraine Brain', Dr. Bernstein explains that migraine is caused by brain abnormalities.

Migraine is not a result of mental health problems or signs of hypochondria (health phobia or worry too much with a serious illness), or patient error.

Migraine is a chronic neurological disorder from birth, and in many cases the disease is inherited from both parents.

Migraine is derived from the mother

The surprise was one of five women and one of 20 men in the UK has been suffering from migraine. Migraine is the ninth leading cause of disability in the world, and is more common than diabetes or asthma.

Research shows that between 70 to 80 percent suffer from migraines have a family history of migraine also suffered, especially of maternal factors.

Because this disease is caused by a genetic condition, then there is no drug that can actually cure the disease. Existing medications can only reduce and minimize the symptoms caused.

According to Dr. Bernstein, who has no experience or history of migraine an exact match. This can lead to very difficult to compare the trigger migraines experienced by a person to another.

There is a myth that says that migraine sufferers should avoid chocolate and foods with MSG. This is not entirely correct. For some people this might be kind of food can be a migraine trigger, but this did not apply for all people who suffer from migraine.

Every person has different triggers. Migraine triggers may be from red wine, weather changes, lack of sleep or the stinging smell of perfume.

The trigger is not only disrupt the brain, but also interferes with the work, because it triggers biochemical chain reactions that can cause some symptoms.

Unlike a regular headache, migraine also involves an entirely different experience and almost always include some reactions and physical symptoms.

85 percent of migraine patients experience continuous throbbing head, the pain is felt with every beat of heart, like a knife who stabbed repeatedly in the head.

For years, doctors thought that migraine is caused by vasodilation, ie widening of blood vessels in the brain and suppress the structure-sensitive to pain.

True, for many patients with migraine, headache is one of the symptoms that accompany migraine. But the migraine itself almost never just a pain in the head, there are other symptoms that accompany it.

Migraine symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, sensitivity to light or sound, numbness or odd sensations in the skin, changes in vision, hunger, speech slurred, his eyes red and excessive crying. These symptoms are very diverse and complex.

Hallucinations usually involves something that is felt or heard, but that did not exist when someone is awake or conscious.

Hallucinations usually occur without stimulation of the brain is present and can not distinguish between reality and fantasy. It usually occurs in the form of smell, taste, sight, sound or touch feeling.

As quoted from nlm.nih.gov and Buzzle. The cause of the hallucinations that occur usually depends on what type of hallucinations experienced by these people, namely:

Auditory hallucinations

Auditory hallucinations such as hearing voices, music or like her name-calling, but when he saw around him that does not exist. Also sometimes also arises the speaking voice or her to do something.

Hallucinations of this type is usually more common in psychotic conditions like schizophrenia, depression or isolation. A very strong depression can interfere the normal function of the human mind. Whereas when someone isolated from the social world would be a bad influence on his mind because there is no normal outlet for their social needs.

Visual hallucinations (visual)

Visual hallucinations usually occur gradually and starts with someone seeing things in various forms such as shadow, the pattern of flashes of light or object. But the most common perception is to see human beings or animals that are not there.

Other causes are people suffering from dementia will often see things move or visualize a situation or condition and this is generally regarded as a definitive sign of dementia.

Exhaustion and fatigue factors

When a person feels fatigue and exhaustion, the brain would be too tired and can not work properly. So that blur the line between what is real and Imaginated and produce hallucinations that are trusted by the person.

Someone who started hallucinating and often can not distinguish between imagination should real dams should immediately see a doctor.

Since many medical conditions that can cause hallucinations. Someone who can fantasize about an advanced nervous, frightened and paranoid therefore should not be left alone.

Who Said Human Brain Just 10 Percent in Use?

by on May.13, 2010, under Information Lifestyles

brain-of-humanBaltimore, The human brain is very complex and is the source of all feelings, behaviors, experiences, and the warehouse of memory and consciousness. But is it true that humans only use 10 percent of his brain?

The brain is very mysterious, and an additional one other mystery is the assumption that humans only use 10 percent of his brain. And if everyone could use another 90 percent of the brain, maybe everyone can be a scientist and has the power telecinetic.

“Though an interesting idea,” 10 percent myth “is absolutely untrue, and very amusing,” said Barry Gordon, a neurologist at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, as reported from Scientific of American.

According to Gordon, a myth derived from the concepts of people about his own brain. This group saw itself as a lack of evidence that gray matter (cortex of the brain that contains nerve cell bodies) is not maximally utilized.

This is a false assumption. It may be true, at certain moments in one's life, such as when to rest and relax only use only 10 percent of the brain. But this does not apply to other conditions.

“It turned out that we use almost every part of the brain, and most of the brain is active almost all the time. The brain represents three percent of body weight, and require 20 percent of the energy body,” added Gordon.

The average weight of the human brain about three pounds (1.3 kg) and consists of the cerebrum, cerebellum and brain stem.

If You Wanna Never Hurt When Stuck Rain, Walking or Running?

by on May.13, 2010, under Indonesian Issues 2010

rainIn my Country Indonesia, Rain sometimes makes a headache because the air pressure is low. People will usually quick to avoid the rain with the hope that no ill. When trapped rain, which should be running as usual or running hard?

Body condition during the rainy season then it's usually easy to drop as much as possible not too wet if it was not fit.

Some diseases in the rainy season include dizziness, flu, dengue fever, diarrhea, vomiting, dysentery, intestinal worms. When body is wet, damp clothes that make a home causing mold and fungus on the skin like the groin, between toes, breast fold.

Presumably sprinted through the rain to run only safer than walking alone because the body will be more wet. Overview assuming it is true, because by running the rain will be much briefer. But running will make the blows that rain water does not only come from above, but also from the front so it is quite reasonable to run when the rain just makes it more moist.

Excerpted from the Gazette,  two scientists from North Carolina, Thomas Peterson and Trevor Wallis never do experiments about it. They do it in the Appalachian mountain region during rainstorms in the summer of 1996.
In the rain, Wallis ran as far as 100 yards in their office parking lot while Peterson was just walking. Both are wearing hats and clothing made from the same, such as cotton.

Once through the pouring rain, their clothes immediately weighed. Peterson turned out clothes for 40 percent more weight than wet by rain water that ran Wallis clothes quickly.

Aku Hanya MANUSIA Biasa

by on Mar.23, 2010, under Uncategorized

Tugasku terlampau mudah.
Semakin aku memukul, semakin deras darah tertumpah.
